What is Stories of O?

Stories of O is the blog for Stories of Oprah: the Oprahfication of American Culture, an interdisciplinary anthology about Oprah Winfrey as culture industry. Less a book about Oprah, the woman, the twelve chapters in this book explore Winfrey’s influence on American culture.

How do Oprah’s outputs shape the way Americans think about gender, race, nation, spirituality, identity, sexuality, and a host of other cultural aspects.
